Safer Brand Insect Killing Soap is an extremely mild yet often very effective Safe Garden Insecticide.  Cheap Insecticidal Soaps are a great way of dealing with a wide range of pests without using harmful chemicals.

Of course they have their limitations, but used wisely they are often all that is needed to keep the garden in tip top condition.  You can make your own homemade soap sprays but it is often more reliable to use a manufactured version to ensure you have aconsistent strength of product and safety for delicate plants.  They are supplied in highly concentrated form so you do not need to purchase very often and dilute them to make literally gallons of safe insecticide.

As with all insecticidal soap sprays there are limitations.  They are not rainproof and their alkaline nature can be damaging to a few highly sensitive plants so check the packaging or test a small area of any really highly prizedornamental specimens.  All soap spray insecticides should be used when there is the least chance of spraying beneficial insects as though it is harmless to the likes of ladybugs once sprayed you could harm them if spraying directly onto them.  So, it is best to spray either early or late in the day when insects are least active.  This way also ensure you do not incur scorching from the sun shining on wet leaves either.
